Pare is a private, self-guided app for adults who want to understand and change their relationship with alcohol, cannabis, or nicotine. If something is not working, or you have a question this page does not answer, write to us and a person will reply.

We aim to reply within two business days. Please tell us your device, your iOS version, and what you were doing when the problem happened. Never send us your password or your recovery code.
Pare is not monitored, and no one reads your entries. If you are in danger or you need medical help now, contact your local emergency services. If you are thinking about harming yourself, contact a crisis line in your country. Pare lists a region aware crisis line and an international directory on the Safety screen during setup, and the Moment tools stay one tap away inside the app.
If you drink heavily most days and you are planning to stop, speak with a healthcare professional first. Stopping suddenly can sometimes be dangerous.
Open Pare, choose Sign in, then Forgot password?. You will confirm your email with a one time code and then enter the recovery code you saved when you created your account. That lets you set a new password and keep your existing entries.
Your entries are encrypted on your device with a key derived from your password, and we do not hold that key. Without your password or your recovery code, no one can unlock your existing entries, including us. You can still start again with a new account, and your old encrypted records can be deleted. We know this is a hard trade. It is the same property that makes it impossible for us to read your journal.
In Pare, go to You › Delete account. This removes your account and your entries from our systems and clears the data held on your device. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

The daily check in, substance recording, goals, and the Moment tools are free, and the Moment tools stay free regardless of tier. Premium adds unlimited goals, unlimited habits, unlimited challenges, correlations and multi month history in Insights, and reminders including a Sunday reflection.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us. In Pare, go to You › Subscription › Manage in App Store, or open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Premium until the current period ends.
Tap Restore on the paywall, or go to You › Subscription › Restore, while signed in to the same Apple Account that made the purchase. If it still does not appear, email us with the date of purchase and we will look into it.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them on Apple's behalf, but tell us what went wrong and we will help where we can.
No. Journals, check ins, goals, habits, challenges, letters, crisis plans, and trusted contact details are encrypted on your device before they are stored, with a key we never receive. There are no advertising SDKs, no third party analytics, and no trackers in the app, and no part of your writing is sent to an AI model.
Supabase provides authentication and encrypted storage. RevenueCat records subscription state, keyed to an anonymous account identifier. Apple handles payment. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
