Lantern is for parents whose adolescents are in the early stages of substance experimentation. The audience is not the teenager. It is the parent, between sessions with a counselor or before them, looking for context and a steadier set of words.
Its own name, sold on its own
Lantern keeps its own brand identity. Practitioners and their clients meet it under the Lantern name, not the studio’s. It is sold standalone rather than as part of the un-X subscription family, and Studio Sof is the maker behind it.
Bilingual by default
The application is bilingual from the start. French and English are not handled as a translation layer added later; both run as primary languages, with the voice read native in each.
Shared architecture
Lantern is the proving ground for several pieces of architecture that the rest of the studio reuses. The monorepo layout (pnpm and turbo), the encryption package, the AI content pipeline, the content schema, and the design tokens all originate here. un-vape lifts the Field Notes content pipeline directly for its Watch surface. The region-aware helpline module is lifted whole.
The Lantern brand stays on Lantern surfaces. The technology travels.
Status
Paused. Mostly built. The replanning was underway when the project was set aside on 2026.05.07. The build resumes once the studio’s near-term obligations clear.
Available whole. The bilingual product and its brand, for a practitioner to run as their own.
